Last Thursday, on the 17th November we celebrated the 37th commemoration day of the Polytechneio. In November 1973 a lot of students gathered in the Polytechnic school in Athens, protesting against the military junta holding power since 1967. On the 17th the army took action and put an end to the protest, killing some of them. These events led to the downfall of the junta and to free elections in 1974.
